What if part of the answer to the mental health crisis was… just outside?
Today, the need for psychological support is exploding. Waiting lists are growing. Resources can’t keep up. And yet, a simple, accessible, and scientifically solid pathway exists: connection to nature.
Research is clear: • 20 minutes in nature can reduce cortisol by up to 18% • Nature supports the regulation of the nervous system • Nature connectedness is a predictor of mental health • …and even a lever for more sustainable behaviours
This is exactly what I explore in my trainings and coaching: nature as a tool for prevention, recovery, and as a cultural lever toward greater sustainability.
I’m delighted that L’essentiel chose to highlight this topic in a recent publication. Because it’s essential to remember that nature is not a backdrop — it’s a key factor in mental health and stress regulation.
Integrating nature into a prevention strategy is not a “nice to have”. It’s a concrete response to a real need.
